M R Industrial Services of Corby, have converted from LPG powered Forklifts to trucks powered by Li-ion Batteries. Following a lengthy cost/benefit analysis, the company are looking to reduce costs, minimise noise levels and eliminate exhaust emissions within their factory. The latest range of Li-ion powered forklift trucks – produced by Chinese Manufacturer Hangcha, and marketed in the UK by their subsidiary HC UK Ltd – have the same lifting capacity as their engine powered predecessors and built in battery chargers, so the only requirement is a single phase 16 map wall socket. The trucks’ driving parameters can all be altered to suit site requirements so top speed, acceleration and braking rates, and even the speed of the hydraulic functions can all be pre-set on site or prior to delivery.
